The Seniors Association of St. Margaret’s Bay offers community members an ongoing opportunity to purchase hand sewn items, with the CEC functioning as a sales and distribution centre. During the pandemic, the Bay Seniors sewing volunteers made thousands of fabric face masks. Currently, they sell sturdy washable fabric tote bags and quilted placemats. Items are made from donated or recycled materials, with proceeds going to help cover costs of community programs and services offered or supported by Bay Seniors.
Bay Seniors also accepts jewellery donations from the community. The association’s jewellery team, cleans, researches and photographs these donations, putting them on sale both online on the Bay Seniors’ Facebook page and in person at community events. All proceeds go to the St. Margaret’s Bay Food Bank.
